Some of my favorite people
These hands belong to one of my very favorite people in the whole world…
…we grew up together…and were inseparable. People thought we were twins (although I was, of course, much cuter 🙂 ). We were cousins by chance, but BFF by choice.
He moved when we were 11 and although time and distance and life all get in the way of regular contact, our friendship just picks right up where it left off when we’re together.
Last week he came to visit…he brought his wife (whom I’ve adored since the very first moment I met her), his son Jack, and his sweet baby Ellie (whose feet he’s holding here).
And whose sweet face you see here:
We couldn’t resist getting a picture of her in a stocking but she didn’t love being naked for pics so we dressed her up and took some more.
How freakin’ adorable is she?
…and what is it about baby feet that just makes you happy?
In case you’re wondering, she really is every bit of the angel baby pictured here:
and here.
and here.
…and when it was time for them to go, I totally tried to keep her.
This is her big brother Jack. His one wish for Christmas was SNOW…and since he lives in San Diego, that seemed like a long shot.
I’m not sure who was more excited when he got his wish…him, or all of us grown ups who got to watch him enjoy it!
My sweet little Emery LOVED having her cousin Jack in town and they were ab-so-malutely ADORABLE together.
Jon and uncle Jerry jumped on a sled together and I hate to be cliche, but these pictures are definitely worth a thousand words. Probably more.
So here’s the truth: I heart this family.
I think Sara and I might have actually been separated at birth and although I love having an excuse to visit Southern California, I spent 6 days unashamedly trying to convince them to be my neighbors.
I literally made them freeze to get this picture as they were leaving for the airport…and when they stepped off the plane it was 80 degrees in Sunny San Diego…soooooo I’m pretty sure my sales pitch was wiped out within 5 minutes (possibly 5 seconds).
But you won’t find this on the beach, so maybe there’s a chance?????
Dear Zellers: SUCH a fun visit…Seriously. Please move here.

You had me in tears, too. I am a friend of Robbie and Jerry from church in San Diego. YOu are an amazing artist. These pictures really do speak a thousand words:) When you are visiting sunny San Diego next, I’d love to have you take “relics” of our 3 kiddos. You are sooo talented! You have a one-of-a-kind beautiful family.
Amazing pictures and also an amazing family. We are very blessed to have them in our lives and in San Diego (where they are staying).
