Best of 2010 {} Siblings

I didn’t really intend for this to be a category when I set out to post some favorites from this year, but when you see the following pics you’ll quickly understand why I couldn’t resist.

The sibling relationship is entirely unique. Siblings can be best of friends and worst of enemies…all in the same five minutes…and over the most inconsequential thing.

You can HAAATE a particular thing about your sibling, but if someone else points out that very same flaw, you’ll defend them like there’s no tomorrow.

Siblings are, of course, the friend(s) you didn’t choose, but so often the one(s) you can’t imagine life without…and so all that being said, I think it’s possible that this category of favorites is…well…my most favoritest.

20. Everything about this picture makes me happy.

19. Can’t even explain the joy is brings me to think about these kids being adopted into one big family.

18. Sweet, sweet, sweet (and my apologies in advance if your parents use this picture against you if/when you’re teenagers and claim to despise each other).

17. The definition of brotherly love.

16. Seriously, some of the smartest and sweetest kids I’ve ever met…Oh, and I’m a big fan of bare feet (dear summer, please hurry).

15. I already raved about these two here so I’ll only say this:  it makes me sad for my little girls that they don’t have an older brother. There’s something so special about the relationship between a girl and her big brother. I have an amazing one and it’s so evident that this little man will be the same.

14. I snuck this pic in on my best of families blog, but I just couldn’t resist putting it back up…it’s the big brother thing I think.

13. Probably pretty darn representative of life as the only girl sandwiched between two boys.

12. Who says only boys wrestle?

11. Just minutes before (and seconds after) this photo was taken, these kids were OVER the photoshoot and OVER each other…but for this brief moment they were best of friends…and such is life as siblings.

10. If taking their picture was any indication of real life, twins are HARD…but SOOOOO worth it!

9. Speaking of siblings…these are my sister’s kids and I pretty much adore them.

8. I totally get it kiddo…I was the third child too…this is only the beginning 🙂

7. Boys will be boys…

6. Some more brotherly love.

5. Laughter is good for the soul and this whole session made mine happy.

4. Dear God, please give me a tow-head or a red-head…I’ll take either 🙂

3. This just makes me smile every time I look at it.

2. Ummm…are you kidding me???? One of my favorite pics of all time! Adorable kids + a touch of fall left in late November = perfection. (btw, their mom printed this as a canvas gallery wrap and it was Be-U-tiful!

1.  Priceless. The pic on the right gets my number one spot for the year for sure (but the one on the left just makes me laugh so I had to include it!

Dear Siblings: you’ll most likely be best of friends someday so you should def spare your parents all the drama and just get along now 🙂
