The coldest beach vacation ever (Part II)…
…a few more favs from San Diego…starting with some family pics at the infamous Hotel Del Coronado. My sweet friend Krissy was in town to do the flowers for my cousin’s wedding so I hit her up for some of her mad photo skills and she did not disappoint.
my sweet baby girls…
favorite. favorite. favorite. (maybe of all time).
I can only stand to be on the other side of the camera for so long before I get the shakes 🙂 but I am so grateful for these pics.
Emery is a daddy’s girl and often points out to me: “I’m on my dad’s team. Not yours.” (thanks kid…just remember who gave you life).
I’d love to know what Shane was doing behind me here…
Dear Emery and Adley…please stay little forever….
couldn’t resist grabbing a few pics of this adorable little family…
another favorite.
Emery has made it clear that she’s a daddy’s girl. I had high hopes for Adley, but she is hands down, without question, a Mamie’s girl (which my mom hates, lemme tell ya).
It’s been a long time since we’ve had an original 5 pic. awwwwwww…
At some point during this fun photo session, our rental car keys were lost forever in the sands of Coronado. Five hours and $350 later, we were the proud owners of a new rental car for our last day in San Diego. It was an appropriate finishing touch to a gloomy week, but my mom reminded us, “if everything had gone perfectly you wouldn’t remember it”. Don’t worry mom, we have a plethora of memories from this trip!
We spent our last evening in San Diego at one of our favorite places: Seaport Village. It’s a beautiful park on the bay with quaint little shops, good eats, a fun carosel, and great climbing trees.
this makes me happy.
We did get to spend ONE DAY (out of 10, mind you) at the beach in the sunshine with bathing suits on. The girls were much too busy enjoying it to let me take their pics, but I tried to steal a couple in their cute little beach cover-ups.
We ended our time in So. Cal at Disneyland. We went up to Anaheim on a whim with plans to grab a hotel room when we arrived…when we pulled into town at 11pm we were greeted by huge signs welcoming all to the 2010 All-Star game. We immediately freaked out a little and began calling hotels (and praying for a miracle). After several “no’s” (some with a scoff at our asinine last minute request for a hotel room for the nights of the home run derby and the all-star game), we found a great (and miraculously reasonably priced) room.
Needless to say, the girls loved Disney. The Dumbo ride was their favorite:
…and as stated inmy last post, taking the grandparents to these types of places is ingenius and the girls came home with a suitcase full of all things Disney.
Dear Disney: thanks for redeeming the gloomy weather of San Diego.
Dear Zeller Family: we miss you already and are so grateful for your hospitality. We came home to 100 degree weather and immediately started complaining about being too hot, while reminiscing about the cool, crisp San Diego air. I think it’s safe to say we’re difficult to please. Looking forward to the next time.
