Best. Job. Ever.

I got into photography because I love capturing beautiful brides, adorable families, and precious kiddos…there’s nothing better than handing someone a picture that archives a sweet moment that passed all too quickly. But I’m not gonna lie. When I got the call for this job, I. Was. Pumped. And can you blame me when you show up to a day’s “work” to shoot these?

My grandma always used to say (with her long crooked finger pointed at you) when it comes to success in life, “it’s not about who you are, it’s about who you know.” Well since two of my favorite friends happen to own the Cakery and the Cup (formerly known as the Cupcakery), I’d say granny was right. This was what I’d call a successful day. 🙂
There were so many moments…usually immediately following a “taste test” (to make sure I had done the product justice in the picture, of course) that I felt sorry for people whose job isn’t as cool as mine…which on this particular day was everyone.

Because, really. Does it get any better than this?

This first bunch are all their staple flavors (meaning, you can get them all day, any day). Yes please.

My favorie cupcake. The peanut butter cup. Yum.

A close second: red velvet. It is TO. DIE. FOR.

And just in case you have some strange aversion to eating cupcakes for breakfast (which I cannot fathom, but, whatever), they do an Un-B-Lievable coffee cake cupcake.

They do a bunch of seasonal flavors…check out their website to see them all.

They also do cupcakes for a cause, which totally helps justify the calories!

And their holiday cupcakes are so fun and festive.

They even manage to make carrot cake taste good (if you can incorporate a vegetable into a cupcake and make it taste good you should for sure win some sort of humanitarian award).

Yum.

Some of their flavors are only available certain weeks of the year, but they’re worth the wait!

They also do some fun cupcake/cake towers that are perfect for small weddings or parties.

If this post made you hungry, head to the Cup in the Central West End…or in Knoxville, TN…or their newest location in Springfield, MO. You will not regret it…and you can wash it down with a nice shot of espresso.

Dear Ericka and Nicole: Seriously. Thanks for paying me to eat, er, I mean, take pictures of your cupcakes so I could brag to my friends that I have the coolest job ever. 🙂 Keep on comin’ with those new recipes so we have an excuse to do this again! I have mad love for your cupcakes.

  • Kelly,
You’re awesome. Few people could handle two people as organized as me and Nicole. I’ll never forget that it all started in your kitchen…and dining room…and basement… I wouldn’t be here today if it weren’t for all the love I received under that roof.

  • These pictures are absolutely beautiful! You’ve captured the beauty of Ericka & Nicole’s creations & made my mouth water. Yummmmmmm
