The Weinbergs
I love this family. Absolutely love them…perhaps even adore.
I even love their dog…which, if you know me, is saying A. LOT.
A million years ago (though it seems like yesterday), I used to babysit these kids.
You know how there’s nothing more annoying than when an old lady comes up to you at church and pats you on the head and says (in her screechy old-lady voice), “I remember when you were ‘this big'” (as she lowers her hand to waist high, patting the “imaginary” head of your former self)?
I TOTALLY do that to them…
…And I totally can’t help myself because they grew up SO fast and it just doesn’t seem possible that in the blink of an eye they went from being babies to this:
Katie and I met in passing through random circumstance before she even knew Mike. We didn’t become friends until many years later (…years after being babysitter to their kids). Once someone asked us how we met and Katie smiled and told the quick story and then finished by saying that we had recently reconnected through church and “our husbands have been dating ever since”. 🙂
So true. Mike and Shane are perhaps the boy version of what we ladies would call “BFF”. Mike has been an amazing friend and mentor to Shane and I can honestly say our lives (and marriage) are better because of Shane’s friendship with this guy. It’s rare in this world to find a man who works hard, loves Jesus, adores his wife, cherishes his kids and balances all of that pretty darn well. That’s Mike.
And Katie is very much the same. She is, in so many ways, the wife and mom I strive to be and I am so grateful that I get to soak in life lessons simply by watching her live hers.
Favorite of the day:
Meet Corey and Kurt: the son’s Shane never had. I kinda figured since our first two kids were girls, it’d be a long time (if ever) before we sat through a little league baseball game. Not so. We go see these guys play their games and Shane celebrates their victories (and batting averages) as though they were his own.
And Haley…sweet Haley…truly one of the sweetest young ladies I know. Period. She is abso-ma-lutely beautiful inside and out and as a mom of girls I hope mine are a whole lot like this one in about 10 years!
Totally love these sibling pics:
Favorite #2 of the day.
boys will be boys…
…and even as “not-the-biggest-dog-lover-that-ever-lived”, I heart these pictures.
yup. love ’em.
Dear Weinbergs: I could gush on and on, but I’m quite certain I’ve already embarrassed you enough. Suffice it to say we are indescribably grateful to be doing life with you guys.
OOOOOH! Love these pics and these people.
KJ,
Thanks for the beautiful pics and incredibly generous words! We are so appreciative of your style and your talent. Thanks for giving us a Relic experience.
And, yes, I admit to dating your husband. However, you’ve got the mentoring thing backwards. He’s been such a wise friend and coach to me.
You did fabulous job of catching the personalties of our family. “Thank you”, does not even begin to describe the pleasure you provided.

“Thank you,” doesn’t even begin to describe the pleasure you brought through your talent as photographer. You truly caught the bond in the family.
